Browns featured prominently on Gil Brandt's 'greatest of all time' lists

Former Browns and even a current one are featured prominently on Gil Brandt's "greatest of all time" lists.

The longtime NFL talent evaluator, who is now a senior media analyst at, included a combined six Browns on his lists that rank the best quarterbacks, running backs and tackles of all time.

The highest-ranked is Browns legend Jim Brown, who tops Brandt's list of 27 running backs. Fellow Browns Hall of Famer Marion Motley is ranked 24th. Brown, an eight-time all-pro and three-time MVP, finished his career with 12,312 rushing yards and 126 touchdowns. Motley was a two-time all-pro and led the NFL in rushing in 1950.

Hall of Fame quarterback Otto Graham, who led the Browns to three NFL championships, is fourth on Brandt's list of 16 quarterbacks. Graham also won three MVP awards and finished his career with 3,584 career passing yards, 174 touchdown passes and 44 rushing touchdowns.

Joe Thomas, who has never missed a Pro Bowl or a snap since he came to Cleveland in 2007, is one of three Browns to make Brandt's list of the greatest tackles of all time, placing seventh of 20. Hall of Famers Mike McCormack (eighth) and Lou Groza (19th) also made the cut.
